The Spruce Street Halloween Treasure Hunt
** Note: Advance tickets are no longer for sale. You can buy them at the door using cash or credit card. Happy Treasure Hunting**
Need a fun thing to do with your school friends to celebrate Halloween while our beloved Spooktacular is on hiatus? No problem! We’ve got you covered this Halloween with the first ever Spruce Street School Halloween Treasure Hunt, taking place October 30, 2021, from 10:45-2:15pm (last sign up at 1:15pm) for Pre-K-5, and from 6:30-8:30pm for grades 6-8. ANY student may sign up for EITHER (or both!) events, at the discretion of their parents/caregivers. Please note the two events are structured differently: the morning (Elementary School) hunt is an individual hunt, while the afternoon (Middle School) one is a team event; click on the ticket links above for more details.
What is the Elementary School Halloween Treasure Hunt?
It’s a roughly 2 mile, one hour trek throughout our local community to various landmarks and businesses - some with spooky histories and others that are just cool stops. Check in at Spruce Street at your reserved time to pick up your first clue and a set of maps - then you’re on your way to pick up more clues and some treats along the way! Solve all the clues and redeem them for some Halloween goodies at the grand finale location!
What do I need to do?
What is the Middle School Halloween Treasure Hunt?
It’s an interactive, quick-thinking, collaborative effort that involves teams of between 5-10 kids to work swiftly around our local community in order to find all of the clues on our map. Meet at Spruce Street at 6:30 pm with your team, pick up your map, and get moving to record your findings and run into some treats along the way! There will be prizes awarded to various categories, including fastest team.
What do I need to do?
Do I need tickets for all family members?
No. Only for children. Parents can (actually, should) tag along and don't need a ticket.
You can bring along non-Spruce siblings or friends - these will need tickets, and you can specify they are not Spruce students in the comment box.
Also, reach out to Kim Mulvey if you would like to receive a ticket free-of-charge on our Spruce Shares budget. All students are always welcome in all Spruce PTA events.
Parents! We need you! Click here to signup for a slot - as always we can’t do this without your help! We will need volunteers along our route to stamp clues and hand out the next one (along with a few things to throw in their bags to keep them motivated!)
Bonus for parents that are willing to play along and really dress the part - we can’t disclose our secret locations but reach out if you’re willing to really get into it! We think this will make the event even more memorable.
We would love to recruit some parent volunteers to work as point persons throughout the Middle School route, so please email Jen if you are interested! Parents are of course welcome to join their child on the route as well, no ticket necessary.
Can’t volunteer but really want to help out? Great, we’ve got an Amazon wish list that needs fulfilling and we would truly appreciate all contributions. Click here to access, and thank you!
Please reach out to Jen at [email protected] for questions. See you October 30!

- First, purchase a ticket and reserve your timeslots - button above.
- On Saturday, 10/30, put on your costume, grab a bag for collecting goodies, and meet us at school at your designated time! Put on your comfy shoes because there is a good amount of walking involved, but we think it’ll be worth it.
- Want to make a day of it? Plan to stay afterward for some Halloween festivities sponsored by the Seaport. (Was that a clue?)
